Munich_RE
Function: Urban Study
Type: Conference Contribution
Year: 2019
MUNICH_RE is a design proposal dealing with the massive growth of Munich, Germanys 3rd
largest city. Munich currently is a city seemingly in denial with a massive lack of optimism regarding
the future of the cities urban identity. MUNICH_RE identifies the major historic steps in Munich`s growths and visualizes the urban changes that accompanied these steps. Could these approaches and even failed developments serve as a blueprint for a new „homegrown" approach to growth and extension? Could one extend the city in a way that is new, but deeply rooted in the layers of existing urban fabric?
